A “thank you” to those who serve.

I don’t fully understand. I can’t. While I have relatives who have served our country in times of war and peace, I have never served in the military. That’s why I can never fully understand the cost, the sacrifice, and the commitment our veterans give to make sure that we live in a democratic and free America. I do know that it is a lifelong decision. The love of our country, the willingness to defend her with their lives, the honor of fighting for our flag, and our freedom never dies.

That’s why I will celebrate the men and women who chose to give their time, energy, families, and very lives so that we might live in a free, self-governed society. That’s why I will honor those who understand a level of commitment, work, sacrifice, and love for our country that I have not experienced. That’s why I will offer respect to those who stand between us and tyranny, dictatorship, and chaos.

There is no way to offer enough gratitude for the men and women who currently defend this nation and all those who have gone before them. However, I am incredibly thankful for each one.

Don’t gloss over this Veteran’s Day. Take a minute to give thanks and voice your appreciation to those who chose to defend and protect your freedom.

America is great because of the incredible men and women who put it all on the line to ensure our liberties. Choose to thank the veterans in your life and tell them that they truly make a difference.
